Course Description

Designed for clinicians with an interest in diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI and lower GI procedures. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy, the most widely performed procedures in endoscopy, are continuously advancing. Many new techniques have been developed in imaging to enhance its use in diagnosis and therapy. This course will focus on indications, instruments and techniques for both upper GI and lower GI endoscopy, including some new advanced diagnostic imaging and different modalities of endoscopic hemostasis. These topics will be discussed and demonstrated by lectures, edited videos of actual cases and hands-on training. Under the guidance of expert tutors, clinicians will receive interactive hands-on experience on simulators, ex vivo models and animal models on several basic and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic techniques.

Intended Audience

Clinicians who wish to pursue an interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, as well as nurses interested in advancing their exposure in endoscopic procedures. This course will include a focus on team-based healthcare delivery. It is recommended that multiple members of the healthcare endoscopy team attend the course together.
