5th International Multidisciplinary Workshop on Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS)
 

28 - 29 March 2011 and 03 - 04 October 2010

Course Objective

After 20 years of development, through laparoscopic surgery it is possible to perform most of the surgical procedures from simple to the most complicated. The objective of being less invasive by reducing the number of access port and the trauma to the abdominal cavity seems to have found its goal in the last year through this novel approach called “single incision surgery”. The objective of this workshop is to acknowledge all the participants on this novel concept with special concern to safety, feasibility and proper training in this possible improvement of laparoscopic surgery.

  • Discuss and explore this newly development of laparoscopic surgery
  • To exchange experiences and ideas on this new surgical approach
  • To understand the challenges and the rationale to translate single incision surgery from bench to clinical practice
