Established in NUH in 1993, MISC is one of the pioneers Centre for Minimally Invasive Surgery in the world, gaining a leading role in clinical care, educational and research programme.

Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), endoscopic surgery or so-called ”keyhole surgery” is widely utilized to minimize the aggressivenes to the body by using small incision and today most of the surgical procedure can be done using this approach. The benefits for the patients are enormous: less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery and return to normal activities maintaining the same standard of care.

MISC is one of the leading Centres worldwide for his Educational Activities recognised by USA (SAGES) and Asia-Pacific (ELSA) board. Yearly International Workshops on different topics are organised with participants and experts coming all over Asia-Pacific. MISC staff organise also live-surgery sessions, webcastings and tele-conferences with different countries worldwide they are also involved regularly in GP’s Talks and Public Forum. MISC provide an interactive website that is now widely utilised by patients and doctors, the website is a forum for information and inquiries.
